1、AbstractThe significance of literature review to academic writings is self-evident.Increasing importance has been attached to genre analysis of literature review inEnglish academic writings. However, literature reviews in masters1 thesis and doctoraldissertations draw more attention of scholars than

2、 the thesis written by undergraduates.This paper aims to make a genre analysis of literature review in English thesis writtenby English majors of CUPL, which regards the literature review model of Hu Jian as areference.The results show that the literature reviews written by the English majorsfollow

3、the structural model of Hu Jian on the whole. However, the students are unableto do Move 3 (Creating a research niche) well, which signifies that they may lack theskills of critical analysis and the capability to adopt the use of critical analysis inwriting literature review.Based on the findings, t

4、he study explores major cause andput forward suggestions concerning the pedagogy of English academic writing and thecultivation of critical thinking.Keywords: literature review; genre analysis; move; critical analysis摘要随着国际学术交流的日益增加，英语作为国际通用语言之一也逐渐成为国际学术研究的主导语言。因此，用英语写作符合国际惯例的论文也成为中国学生的迫切需求。与一篇完整学术论

5、文的摘要，前言，结论等相比，文献综述部分的写作并没有得到很多重视。文献综述对学术论文写作的意义不言而喻，英语学术论文的体裁分析也越来越受到学术界的重视。然而，硕士论文和博士论文的文献综述比起本科生更能引起学者们的注意。文献综述的重要性不需赘述，笔者旨在以胡坚(2010)文献综述四语步模型为理论基础，来研究中国政法大学英语专业本科毕业生英语学术论文写作中文献综述部分的写作特征。以期找出其在英语学术论文写作文献综述部分的不足之处，对英语学术论文写作具有一定的借鉴意义。关键词:文献综述；体裁分析；语步；批判性分析 IIContentsAbstracti摘要iiIe Introduction1I .1

8、iterature reading, selection, comparison,classification, analysis and synthesis, based on the researchers in their own language aresearch on the status of a comprehensive description of the intelligence researchresults. The literature review should reflect both the literature that the author conside

9、rsto be the most important and the critical evaluation of the literature objectively. Thecompilation of the review contributes to the writers research on the topic, as well asthe writers knowledge of a particular area. Literature review generally consists of theintroduction - the main body and the c
