2、rbonizationandsustainabi1ityhaspromptedthegovernmentsandautomotivemanufacturerswor1dwidetoreducetheircarbonfootprint.Consequentia11y,EVsemergeasaviab1eandattractiveso1utiontothecha11engeofc1imatechange.Moreandmorecountrieshavedep1oyedpo1icyinitiativestoencouragetheadoptionofthesevehic1es.Accordingto
3、theInternationa1EnergyAgency(IEA),g1oba1EVsa1eskeepgrowingrapid1yinrecentyears,withapproximate1y6.6mi11ionEVsso1din2023,doub1ingthefigureofthepreviousyear.B1oombergsNewEnergyFinance(BNEF)reporta1soindicatesthatEVsa1esaresettoincreaseto56mi11ionby2040,representingapproximate1y58%ofg1oba1passengercars
4、a1es.Chinahasemergedasag1oba11eaderintheEVmarket.Itsdomesticmarketisthe1argestoneinthewor1d.AsreportedbyChinaAssociationofAutomobi1eManufacturers(CAAM),Chinaso1dapproximate1y6.9mi11ionEVsin2023.Itsdominanceinthemarketisinpartduetoanationa1strategythatprioritizesthedeve1opmentandadoptionofEVs.TheChin
5、esegovernmenthasimp1ementedpo1icyinitiativestosupporttheproductionandpurchaseofEVs,suchastaxexemptions,subsidies,andinvestmentsincharginginfrastructure.Additiona11y,foreignautomakers,suchasTes1a,havebeena11owedtobui1duptheirfactoriesinChina.However,Chinasdominanceinthesectorisnot1imitedtoitsdomestic
6、market.Thecountryhasa1sobecomeamajorexporterofEVs,withasignificantmarketshareinEVexports.ThisreportaimstoprovideanoverviewofChinasEVmarketanddrawitsimp1icationsfortheg1oba1automotiveindustry.Throughtheana1ysisofvariousdatasources,inc1udingsa1esfigures,marketforecasts,andpricingtrends,wewi11examineth
7、ekeyfactorsthathave1edtoChinasfastriseintheEVmarket.E1ectricrevo1utioninChina,sdomesticautomarketChina,sdomesticEVmarketgrewexponentia11ysince2019,withsa1esincreasingsignificant1yinthefo11owingyears.AsreportedbyChinaAssociationofAutomobi1eManufacturers(CAAM),Chinaso1dapproximate1y6.9mi11ionEVsin2023
8、,whichrepresentsasubstantia1increasefrom2023,whenChinaso1daround3.3mi11ionEVs.Incontrast,sa1esofnon-EVpassengercarsinChinahavebeenre1ative1ystagnantinrecentyears,withsa1eshoveringaround20mi11ionunitsperyearsince2019(Figure1&2).Thisrapidgrowthisexpectedtocontinueinthecomingyears,withtheIEAandBNEFfore

10、mInternationa1EnergyAgencyChinatakesthe1eading1oba1EVmarketTheg1oba1e1ectricvehic1emarkethaswitnessedafastgrowthinrecentyears,inparticu1arduringtheperiodof2019-2023(Figure3).Theg1oba1marketisdominatedbytheAsia-Pacificregion,whichaccountsformorethanha1fofthetota1EVsa1esinthewor1d;fo11owedbyEuropeandN
11、orthAmerica.OverthesameperiodChinasuccessfu11yexpandeditsmarketshareintheg1oba1sa1es,increasingfrom1essthan30%in2019to41.5%in2023.Thatbeingsaid,EVsa1esofChinaandEuropewere1.7and1.5mi11ionin2019respective1y.However,ChinazsEVsa1esincreasedto6.9mi11ionin2023,comparedto4.9mi11ioninEurope.InthisareaJapan
12、andKorea1agfarbehind.TheircombinedEVsa1esin2023weresti11c1osetothe20191eve1inChina.2.3mi11ionEVswereso1dinNorthAmericain2023,representinga148%growthfrom2019butsti11accountingforasma11ershareofg1oba1EVmarket.(Figure4)Apparent1y,theEVmarketisexperiencingafastergrowthinChinathaninothercountries.1ooking
13、ahead,themarketshareoftheUSandotherregionsareexpectedtopickupinthecomingyears.However,Chinaisexpectedtoremainthetopse11erandisprojectedtose1116mi11ionunitsby2030(Figure5).Whi1eEuropeisa1soexpectedtoincreaseitssa1es,thegrowthrateisanticipatedtobe1ower,withsa1essurpassing8mi11ionunitsby2030.TheUnitedS
