2、Module1:CourseIntroduction3-11.Thismodulecoverscourseorientationandapplicabletrainingmaterials.Theprovidedmaterialsgivetheunittraineraninsightintothe40-hourcourseofinstruction,Javelintrainingrequirements,andtheexpectedcourseoutcome.Module2:IntroductiontotheJavelin3-12.Thismodulecoverstheoperationalc

3、apabilitiesoftheJavelinanditsmajorcomponents.Module3:BasicSkillsTrainerOperatingInstructions3-13.ThismodulecoverstheuseandoperationoftheBST,theprimarytrainingdeviceusedfordevelopingthetechnicalskillsrequiredtobecomeaJavelingunnerandforqualifyingJavelingunners.Module4:FieldTacticalTrainerOperatingIns

4、tructions3-14.ThismodulecoverstheuseandoperationoftheFTT,acriticalelementindevelopingJavelingunnerproficiency.TheFTTisusedtodeveloptheskillsrequiredtoengagetargetsunderfieldconditions.SustainmentTraining3-15.AftertrainerscompletetheinitialgunnertrainingandJavelindeviceoperationaltraining,theylearnto

6、cation.PROGRAMAUDIENCE3-16.Thetrain-the-trainerprogramhastwotargetaudiences:potentialtrainersandpotentialcoaches.Trainers3-17.TrainersareproficientwiththeJavelinandcanteachotherstobecomeJavelingunnersandcoaches.TheseSoldiersshouldbeselectedfromthemosthighlyqualifiedSoldiersintheunit.Coaches3-18.Coac

7、hesareJavelingunnerswhocandemonstratethenecessarywarriorskillstoassistotherSoldiersinlearningbasicJavelingunneryskills.TheseSoldiersshouldbeselectedfromunitgunnerswhopossessthedesireandabilitytotrainotherSoldiers.Coachinghasatwo-foldbenefit:(1)thecoachlearnsandretainsthesubjectmatterthroughrepetitiv

8、etraininganddemonstratedleadershipskills,and(2)othergunnerscanbenefitfromtheone-on-oneassistance.InstructorStationFeatures3-24.Attheinstructorstation,adesktoppersonalcomputerprovidesthemeanstoinstallorupgradesoftware,createandsavegunnertrainingrecords,andmonitorgunnerperformanceduringagivenexercise.

9、BSToperatorscanenterandsavegunnertrainingrecorddataona3.5-inchdisk.Theinstructorstationalsoallowstheoperatortomonitorthegunnefsactionsduringeachexercise.Aftertheexerciseisover,theBSToperatorcancritiquethegunnersperformancebyreplayingtheexercise.TrainingExercises3-25.TheBSTcontainstrainingexercisesfo

10、rinitialJavelintrainingandqualification,withtworetestexercisesforeachqualificationexercise.Initialtrainingandqualificationexercisesarestoredinseparatedirectories,withexpansiondirectoriesforsustainmentandadvancedgunnerytraining.Theexercisescontainterrainmodels,three-dimensionaltargetmodels,weathercon

11、ditions(ie,clear,rain,snow,etc.),runtimes(1to7minutes),andmalfunctions(i.e.,hangfireandmisfire).SoldierStationFeatures3-26.TheSoldierstationequipmentsimulatesthephysicalandoperationalcharacteristicsoftheJavelin,includingweight,pointofbalance,dimensions,hardwarecomponents,controls,andindicators.Itand

12、operationalsoundsfromabuilt-inspeakersystem.SimulatedImagery3-27.Thecomputer-generatedIRanddaylightimageryreflectsthemagnificationandspectralcapabilitiesoftheJavelin.BSTtrainingexercisesusedigitalimagesofrealterrainfromactualvisiblelightandIRimagery.Asthegunnerworksthroughanexercise,identicalimagery

13、isdisplayedontheinstructorstation.SimulatedBatteryCoolantUnitRemovalandReplacement3-28.ThesimulatedBCUisfixedtothesimulatedroundandcannotberemovedduringnormaluse.TheSoldierexplainstheactionsthathewouldtaketodoso,andtheBSToperatorremovesandreplacestheBCUbyaninputattheinstructorstation.FieldTacticalTr

14、ainer3-29.TheFTTisafullyintegrated,three-dimensionalforce-on-forcetrainingdeviceconsistingofaninstructorstation,asimulatedround,abatterycharger,andbatteries(Figure3-2).TheroundincorporatesaMILESlasertransmittertoallowsimulatedJavelinengagementsduringtrainingexercises.TheFTTisdesignedtosimulatetheJav
