1、从功能翻译理论看围城中的幽默翻译摘要20世纪70年代左右，德国功能学派兴起，该理论因其在实用文本及翻译技能培训中的独特适用性而为人们广泛接受。根据功能翻译理论的核心思想一目的论，译者是翻译过程中最为活跃的因素，可以根据自身对翻译目的和翻译要求的理解，自主决定原文本处于何种地位、发挥多大作用、采取何种翻译方法或策略。功能翻译理论和传统的对等翻译理论中的“文本中心论”不同，它将翻译关注的焦点聚集到译文的功能或目的上，并把一系列因素如原文本作者、翻译发起者、原文本读者、译者、译文读者、译文目的等纳入翻译研究范围之中，由此丰富了现有的翻译理论，提高了译者的主体性，扩大了可译性的范围，为一些翻译方法和策

2、略提供了合理性解释，并把译者从僵硬的“对等”概念的束缚中解放出来。然而，功能翻译理论并非为所有人接受。众多批判中，批判功能翻译理论不适用于文学翻译的声音最为噫亮、持久。即使在中国大陆，介绍功能翻译理论或研究此理论在翻译实用文体的论文居多，鲜有学者研究它在文学翻译中的适用性。本文旨在一定程度上填补此领域的空白。本文以著名作家钱钟书的长篇小说围城及其英译本为例，通过分析小说中大量幽默例句在英译本中的翻译，考察译者在翻译过程采取的翻译策略及其可取性。整个分析过程将采取功能翻译理论的分析模式，从译者的翻译目的来考察这些幽默效果是否成功地重现在译文中，并试图通过案例分析，给围城英译本一个公正的评价。本文

3、通过大量的幽默案例分析后发现，尽管围城英译本不乏亮点，但是由于译者过于屈从于原文，竭力保存原文本中的文化特色和佳词妙句，很多地方没有进行必要的文化调整，致使幽默效果在英译本中削弱甚至丧失，也未能使目标语读者完全欣赏围城的精髓，未能完成译者向英语读者展现钱钟书写作特色的翻译目的，因而英译本是不成功的。关健询:功能翻译理论；目的；幽默；忠诚；目标语读者；AbstractEversinceitwasintroducedbyReissVermcerinthe1970s,ftinctiona1isttrans1ationtheoryhasbeenwide1yacceptedandapp1iedforit
